Sustainability & Photography

Most of the work featured on this web is taken with analog and focused on Cape Verde, but if you wish to explore commercial work and commissions you will see also digital. I am sure that anyone with a well-trained eye for photography won’t have a problem distinguishing the two!

I usually work in color and on medium format film [6x4.5] with an old Bronica Zenza Ersi from the mid-1970s. This is a bulky camera - weighting about 2Kgs when fully equipped with lens and film magazine - yet one one of the greatest cameras I have so far carried around. I do shoot in digital too, but you will never see me taking 1000 frames to get the job done and quickly. It is simply not the way I function. Call it old school, call ME old fashion, ‘till photography is what I use to express my creativity, craftmanship will also remain my number one priority.

My Approach

ENVISION IT

It all started by visiting the island of Sal, back in the winter of 2015. Few weeks on Cape Verdean soil and I was hooked. From there, about 5 years later I started combining photography with my vision of sustainability in this region and the endless list of opportunities this country has, to do it better and to do it right - STILL

MAKE it HAPPEN

The next step was to live here, observe this place from the groun, listening to talks and having conversations with those seemingly invested in a better future for this country, and those curious to know more.

Still… to me a tussle to complete the puzzle is always missing, and that is to make Sustainability a recurrent topic, of interest of advocacy of dailiy-life, life-style inspirational path.
